Wedding Day
I was a little worried when I turned up at just before 1 pm and there didn't seem to be anyone around, but sure enough after a quick drink in the bar for medicinal purposes the guests appeared. The Wedding started as planned at 1.30 pm with all our guests seated on time. Richard Soward and a local musician called Darren Mayo played Sarah in on acoustic guitars playing "You're beautiful" by James Blunt.
Sarah looked stunning as she walked down the aisle to meet me. She was led by the two ushers Danny and John, and followed by Sue our matron of honour and bridesmaids Dawn, Emma and Rebecca. The actual ceremony passed very quickly with both of us trying not to get emotional and start the other one off. Once we had said our vows and signed the register everone had a chance to take pictures.
After we led the congregation out we had our official photos taken outside, as the weather had been kind to us and stopped raining. Whilst this was happening the staff of the Crown Hotel were busy rearranging the room ready for the Wedding lunch during which Darren played guitar.
We all sat down to lovely meal followed by speeches, which seems to go down very well. It was then Sarah's turn to be surprised. Mrs Steve Lockie stood up and made a surprise presentation. It was a large bed quilt which had been secrety made by 49 quilters. Some worked with Sarah in the shop, but most were customers who had attending quilting courses run by Sarah and Steve. Sarah was lost for words as they unveiled the quilt for the first time.
Following the meal there was time to chat and mingle before getting ready for the evening function. The staff this time had to move the table off the dance floor as all three event took place in the same room. The evening function went well with most of the lunchtime guests managing to stay for the evening. The dancing was started in traditional style with Sarah and I taking to the floor. We satrted with "You and I" by Will Young, then upped the tempo with "Smooth" by Carlos Santana. This gave us to show off some dance moves we had learnt at Ceroc classes.
Later that evening we had to hand over our room key to Astrid as she had tried to get into a our room to plant a "surprise", without any success. We did so reluctantly but did not want to spoil the surprise. Two hourse later when we went to bed we found that Astrid and her helpers had strewn Toilet roll across the room, cling filmed our bed and put sugar between the sheets. All our bags were filled with confetti which was interesting the next day when we handed over our passports!
